Welcome to the MEN'S 20 EHF HANDBALL EURO 2020 in Austria & Italy

+++ NEWS ALERT +++

MEN´S 20 EHF EURO 2020 will not take place in Innsbruck and Brixen!

The MEN'S 20 EHF EURO 2020, which was originally scheduled for 2020 July 2-12 in Innsbruck (AUT) and Brixen (ITA) was canceled a few weeks ago by the European Handball Federation (EHF) due to the corona pandemic.

On April 24th the EHF announced the postponement of the M20 EURO to 2021 January 6-16/7-17 and invited the OC of Innsbruck and Brixen to check the new date and the feasibility. After intensive, in-depth examination, the financial risk for unforeseen, possibly short-term, corona-related scenarios cannot be borne by the OC alone without the support of third parties. From a purely organisational perspective, Innsbruck and Brixen would have been perfectly prepared for this major sport event.

The EHF ultimately decided to tender the M20 EURO again and hopes to find a new organiser by the end of June. For more information and all further details regarding the M20 EURO, please contact the EHF directly.

+++ NEWS ALERT +++

The MEN'S 20 EHF EURO is the most important handball event on European soil after the EURO for the men's national teams - comparable to the Under-21 European Football Championship.

Noteworthy: For the first time, the organisation of this major international sport event was awarded by the European Handball Federation (EHF) to two nations - Austria (Federation: ÖHB) and Italy (Federation: FIGH). In consequence, the ÖHB transferred the planning and execution to the event experienced Tyrolean Handball Federation and the FIGH to the South-Tyrolean handball club SSV Brixen, both guarantors for a professional handling of this EURO.
